Transfer America was founded in 2004 by David and Cindy MacMillan, two former Timeshare owners who bought a Las Vegas timeshare in 1999, and couldn’t get rid of it, after being promised free show tickets and a great all-American family vacation if they attended a 90-minute Timeshare presentation. The MacMillans soon discovered that Timeshare ownership stopped making sense when it proved to be rather difficult to schedule a reservation where they wanted, when they wanted, while coordinating the conflicting schedules of two working parents and four children combined. As the MacMillans struggled with scheduling conflicts, the Timeshare Maintenance Fees continued increasing every year – an aspect of Timeshare ownership David and Cindy had not anticipated when they initially decided to buy a Timeshare.

So, the couple did what any hardworking American would do and decided to Sell a Timeshare. However, their timeshare troubles were only compounded when they tried selling their Timeshare through a reputable timeshare “listing” company. Despite paying upfront fees on two occasions, the MacMillans received no buyers or offers for their Timeshare and were unable to successfully get rid of their Timeshare. They even tried donating their Timeshare, and giving it away to family and friends, but no one wanted it. They quickly realized that their Timeshare was far from the investment they were told it would be as it started becoming more and more of a liability for them and their family.

In an effort to find alternative solutions that would help them cancel a Timeshare Contract and essentially dispose themselves of their Timeshare, the MacMillans started researching the Timeshare industry and educating themselves more about Timeshare ownership. They started talking to other Timeshare owners and learned that many other families, just like them, were having the same experiences with their Timeshares.
