Dave & Janice Borst-Smith, Consumer Advisor

Janice is widely regarded by those who know her as intelligent, well-spoken and extremely caring. Her enthusiasm for helping others is abundant and she willingly shares her compassion and knowledge with those around her. A 5th generation Southern Californian, Janice participated in many extra-curricular activities during her high school years, including holding the position of head flag twirler, and being recognized as the Best Extemporaneous Speaker at her school. She graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. degree majoring in Journalism and taking a minor in Art. Her work experience includes time spent on Swedish freighters, and touring the Pacific Rim and Central America. Her education in journalism also led her to work for many years in various careers including magazine production, sales, and teaching.

Dave comes to us from London, England. He’s been enjoying California sunshine in Los Angeles for all 30 plus years of his stateside relocation. He’s a music enthusiast who turned his passion into a profession, working for 25 years in the music industry and is currently nurturing the musical genius of his son’s band towards greatness. Dave has 3 children with his lovely wife, Janice. They’ve been married for 26 years and are intent on celebrating 50 years of matrimonial bliss. Over the years, Dave has been writing songs on guitar but most recently on piano, inspired by his son, Mark. He has an appreciation for old English sports cars and has owned a couple in the past.

Janice came to work with Transfer America after experiencing their service first as a client. After inheriting her father’s timeshare, she found that Transfer America truly offered a way out of the contract and the fees. Wanting to find a way to share her experience with others who found themselves in the same shoes, Janice took on a role at the company travelling with the Team Leaders sharing her story with other timeshare owners and has since become a fantastic Team Leader herself. These days she is joining the ranks of the expanding Internet Sales division which allows her to spend more time at home with her husband David and their three incredible children.

David joined the Transfer America family on a permanent basis in 2006, excited by the chance to work with a diverse group of creative and energetic people and as part of a dynamic company with amazing potential to truly help people in need, services he and Janice employed to escape their own timeshare burden. Over the years he has covered many bases and worn many hats here in the Transfer America headquarters but these days you’ll find Dave working from home in conjunction with Janice as part of our phenomenally successful Internet Sales Department
